New Exodus: Gods and Kings Trailer Brings Action and Plagues

Noah might have turned out to be somewhat of a flop (theological liberties aside – the movie was panned for being slow and boring) so now the world’s attention turns to Exodus: Gods and Kings.

You can see my thoughts on the first Exodus trailer here and Noah here.

There are some big questions that Christians will ask like:

Will it be 100% biblically accurate?

Not a chance.

Will it get people talking and reading the Exodus account?

Yes. At least until the later chapters when building things like the Ark, lampstands, and altars becomes too mind numbing for most.

I’m excited that yet another biblical story will take center stage in the American consciousness and if we pastors do our part, we can help build on this story and take people to the high point which follows – Jesus.

I hope to see many churches and Christians look for the God affirming points in this movie instead of looking to poke holes in the dramatic telling of the Exodus story. There’s so much potential for quality conversation if we do that.

If we go the other route we sound like “the book was better” guy and we all know how annoying and self-righteous that person sounds.

With that, enjoy the new trailer and let me know what you think.

Good? Bad? Heresy?
